Kirikou a Londres…
Great news for all Kirikou lovers, the little man is coming to London!
And for those of you who do not know him, Kirikou et la Sorciere is a beautifully animated film based on a Senegalese folk tale that took France by storm when it came out in 1998. It is the story of an unusually small boy (Kirikou himself) who sets out on a quest to find out why Karaba (La Sorciere, the Sorceress who has put his small African village under a terrible spell) is so wicked. It is truly a beautiful film that both parent and children alike will love. (Then, you’ll want to see Kirikou and the Wild Beasts, the second film…!)
Just book your free tickets for the only show at the BFI Southbank on Saturday 12th September at 11.30

La technologie…
We’ve been very busy at Firs Farm using technology in French:
Year 3 are currently making their own stop-frame animation films entitled Ou Habite Samsam? Having read Ou Habite Mimi? (the French version of Maisie!), they have imagined, written, resources and are currently filming their version using their favourite Superhero, Samsam. Will post the results on this very blog when the films are finished! Watch this place…
A few Year 6 children got to write, resource, film and perform little sketches on the theme of “The Weather Forecast gone Wrong!” We had great fun. Again, films to be posted as soon as they can be edited.
Bienvenue!
Bonne Année et Bienvenue sur French @ Firs Farm.
This blog is written for Firs’ pupils and parents who wish to keep up to date with what we do in class. I will also post links to clips, useful sites, tips on how to remember new words and expressions, etc.
